Whiskey Voting Party….

November 10th, 2008

I cannot thank enough all the people that came out for the Voting Party at the Whiskey for the 18th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards…! My crew! –Brian, Sabrina, Celena, Judea, Shade, Monique, Randy, Christina, Cori Jacobs, my producer for “I Want More”, his friends and the list goes on….!!!! It was a great night – and I can’t thank you guys enough for all coming out to vote and soliciting votes from others unsuspecting peeps on my behalf!!!

What i can’t get over is the talent in this contest: Brian and I have been listening to the Best of 2008 Compilation album of this award show –and the talent is damn good:

Check out “Daughters of Fission” on myspace – they are ridiculously good - listen to “The Sea” and the halarious “Ride Me” : www.myspace.com/daughtersoffission

EastonAshe’s song “God’ Own”  http://www.myspace.com/eastonashe

…and the list goes on…

….it just tells me…there is so much talent out there that are unsigned …what is great about this time in music is that is has become an even playing field for all artists…we can buy music now without going to Tower Records from the comfort of our cushy homes and download away…but since there is so much talent out there, rising to the top seems more about a numbers game now…but i gotta believe that talent that good will be noticed..whether artists want to be on a major these days is iffy…with them dipping into artist pockets across the board including merchandising, bands can make more doing it themselves if they are smart…but the lovely thing in the end is…they have control of their product and getting out there….and it makes discovering bands like these a real find to those who love new music…i have become a fan of someone who is not on a clear channel radio station! Imagine!!!! Who’d- a-thunk it?!?!?
